Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso have created their very own bloc after leaving ECOWAS.
Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger have joined forces to type the Alliance of Sahel States, every dominated by a army authorities, resulting in a break up in West Africa’s largest regional bloc, the Financial Group of West African States (ECOWAS).
The three army leaders have pledged to help one another within the face of exterior threats and inside safety challenges.
However can they succeed in the event that they act alone? Or will a divided Sahel make regional challenges even more durable to deal with?
