White smoke was detected coming from the engine of a Singapore Airways flight whereas touchdown at Tokyo’s Narita Worldwide Airport on Monday, forcing authorities to shut the runway for practically an hour. One official stated items of tires had been found on the tarmac.
Emergency providers discovered no indicators of fireside on flight SQ638, which was carrying 276 passengers and crew. No accidents had been reported and the aircraft was towed away for repairs as runway B was closed for about 50 minutes from about 7:40 a.m. (native time).
Six hearth vehicles and two ambulances have been deployed to cope with the scenario, an airport official instructed AFP information company.
“We obtained a report of white smoke coming from the left engine,” a Narita metropolis hearth official instructed AFP.
