The mayor of New York Metropolis has been indicted on federal costs for “soliciting and demanding” bribes from a Turkish official.
New York Metropolis Mayor Eric Adams was indicted Thursday on federal costs alleging he accepted bribes and unlawful marketing campaign contributions from overseas sources.
The indictment alleges that Adams “elevated his earnings” from the unlawful contributions by manipulating the town’s matching fund program, which supplies a beneficiant match for small-dollar donations. His marketing campaign acquired greater than $10,000 in matching funds because of the false certifications, in response to the indictment.
