Photographs of Gen Z confronting Kenyan police armed with tear gasoline, water cannons and dwell ammunition have dominated headlines in current weeks. What started as a social media motion in opposition to a finance invoice has spiraled into lethal anti-government demonstrations throughout the nation. Although President William Ruto withdrew the invoice in response to the protests’ fervour, Kenya’s financial challenges, coupled with a large demographic of educated youth going through poor job prospects, persistently gasoline discontent towards the political institution. It seems the nation’s youth motion is simply getting began.
