In a sensational finale to the fifth day of athletics on the Stade de France on Monday, Duplantis leapt over the 6.25-metre excessive bar to enthusiastic applause from a capability crowd of 69,000.

The gold meant Duplantis grew to become the primary man to retain the pole vault title since American Bob Richards in 1952 and 1956.
After securing victory, Duplantis, wrapped within the Swedish flag and with Abba’s Dancing Queen enjoying within the stadium, made an emotional lap of the observe.
