India has doubled its grant to Rs 172.25 million to help training in Sri Lanka’s plantation areas for the Indian-origin Tamil neighborhood.
Indian Excessive Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha and Sri Lanka Ministry of Schooling, Science and Know-how Secretary JM Thilaka Jayasundara signed and exchanged diplomatic letters on Friday (October 18, 2024) to formalize the modalities .
“The mission envisages upgrading the infrastructure of 9 plantation faculties recognized by the Authorities of Sri Lanka. These embody six faculties within the plantation areas of the Central Province and one faculty in Uva, one in Sabaragamuwa and one within the Southern Province,” Mr Jha mentioned.
With the extra funds supplied on the request of the Authorities of Sri Lanka, India’s whole dedication to the mission now stands at Rs 600 million (Rs 172.25 million).
